Jughead is all new and improved. He gets his own comics and it's awesome! You read about his obsession with burgers, endless love for milkshakes and follow him in his many dreams.
Chip Zdarsky and Erica Henderson have done a great job recreating Jughead and his friends. It's a fun read for all types of readers from all ages.
Jughead leads us into his life at Riverdale with his friends tagging along (Archie, Ronnie, Betty, Kevin, and even Reggie). One day they arrive to school to find that things are running differently. There is a new principal in town and he has something sketchy up his sleeve. First, they replace the food cafeteria with gunk that is full of "nutritional value", then the school staff, one by one, is replaced by teachers that seem to have been trained in the military. Everyone is getting detention, suspended, and even expelled. Will they be able to stop the new principal? And what is he really up to, anyway?
The art that went into creating this comic is fantastic. It's very detailed and very colorful. I really enjoyed reading and couldn't find myself putting it down for even a break. It was fun to just sit and read a comic book! This would be a good book for teens to read because
Pros:
- It's fun and witty.
- It's modern. Jughead turns out to be asexual and Kevin is gay.
- It's a great read for when someone is bored.
Cons:
- There's not much to teach from this comic.
- It's not challenging.
